A lot has happened since I last wrote. Most notably:
  • Sam has been officially diagnosed with autistic spectrum disorder. However, the Special Ed. Coordinator at Brunswick, Nicola, who is definitely a woman who speaks her mind, says she feels Sam is "just barely on the spectrum", and I agree. So we will do our best and who knows, maybe at some point he'll be re-diagnosed, but I think he will always see the world a bit differently from the majority
  • about 2 weeks ago Nina learned to crawl! And yesterday she started sitting up! Today she also fell off the bed. Thank goodness for wall-to-wall carpeting, but also I will have to be more careful.
  • Somewhat ironically, Sam's speech has improved drastically since the meeting that resulted in the diagnosis. He has also finally gotten used to going to Brunswick and seems to be getting a lot out of it. I think it seems to be a good place.
Nina still has a bit of a cold. I'm glad she has her 8-month checkup on Wednesday, Dr. Wilson can see if her "craggy ear wax" has resolved. Nina still thinks books are best eaten. She did some really good guitar playing today.
