A lot has happened since I last wrote. Most notably:
- Sam has been officially diagnosed with autistic spectrum disorder. However, the Special Ed. Coordinator at Brunswick, Nicola, who is definitely a woman who speaks her mind, says she feels Sam is "just barely on the spectrum", and I agree. So we will do our best and who knows, maybe at some point he'll be re-diagnosed, but I think he will always see the world a bit differently from the majority
- about 2 weeks ago Nina learned to crawl! And yesterday she started sitting up! Today she also fell off the bed. Thank goodness for wall-to-wall carpeting, but also I will have to be more careful.
Somewhat ironically, Sam's speech has improved drastically since the meeting that resulted in the diagnosis. He has also finally gotten used to going to Brunswick and seems to be getting a lot out of it. I think it seems to be a good place.
Nina still has a bit of a cold. I'm glad she has her 8-month checkup on Wednesday, Dr. Wilson can see if her "craggy ear wax" has resolved. Nina still thinks books are best eaten. She did some really good guitar playing today.
